The Ninja CREAMi is a fantastic way to make ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and milkshakes at home, and it can even be compared to commercial ice cream makers. You can read our review of the Ninja CREAMi here. While this ice cream maker is an excellent piece of kitchen hardware, you can get more out of the Ninja CREAMi with the appropriate accessories.

There are lots of choices of third-party equipment that will improve your experience with the Ninja CREAMi, and Ninja even sells some extra pint-sized containers so that you always have various flavors of ice cream and gelato on hand.

Flattening Ninja CREAMi Ingredients and Leftovers for the Freezer

Ninja advises against processing pints that are frozen unevenly as it can damage the blade. In order to ensure all my pints are levelled evenly, I repurposed my favourite meat tenderizer. I know that sounds like an odd accessory for an ice cream maker, but hear me out.

The tenderizer’s base is round and fits perfectly inside the Ninja pint-sized containers, as seen in the picture below. And it has a lot of weight for pushing down ingredients. This is perfect for mushing down bananas, submerging any ingredients popping out of your liquid, or re-levelling a processed pint so that it can be refrozen and reprocessed at a later date. As an added bonus, you can use the meat tenderizer to smash mix-ins into more manageable pieces before adding them to your pint of prepared ice cream or gelato.

Get Perfectly Round Scoops of Your Frozen Treats

I use my Zeroll ice cream scoop to get perfectly round scoops of ice cream and gelato. It works efficiently as it has a special liquid in the handle that conducts heat to ensure the scoop can dig into a solidly frozen pint of ice cream or gelato. I’ve been using this scoop for the last 5 years and would replace it in a heart beat if it ever went missing.

Zeroll Ice Cream Scoop: Liquid Filled Heat Conductive Handle
The unique heat-conductive liquid in the handle uses the natural warmth of your hand to make for smooth and effortless scooping and easy release; this results in perfectly round portions.

Stock Up on Extra Pints of Your Favorite Ice Creams and Gelatos

Variety is the spice of life, and with more containers you can have more variety in your ice cream, gelato, and sorbet choices. The Ninja CREAMi comes with three pint-sized containers, but once you start making ice cream and gelato, you’ll understand the need for more containers. I like having a selection of frozen ready-to-go pints on hand, so these extra containers are super useful!

Immersion blender ! So much fun and blends everything. I use it in a large graduated mixing bowl. 2 cups. Transfer to the Nija container to freeze.
