Flatware, frequently overlooked in the kitchen, is an essential part of a dining experience. Investing in quality flatware will add a subtle touch of refinement to your meals, impressing your guests.
Liberty Tabletop asserts its status as the sole flatware manufacturer in the USA. Crafted at their Sherrill, New York factory, Liberty Tabletop flatware is constructed from 18-10 chromium/nickel stainless steel. This high-quality steel not only ensures durability and excellent aesthetics but is also safe; Liberty Tabletop says they test their steel for lead and other toxic trace elements to ensure their absence.
After learning about this flatware, my curiosity led me to give it a try, wanting to determine if it was worth upgrading from the set I bought at Ikea a few years back.
20 Piece Mallory Set
I tried out the 20 piece Mallory set. I choose this set in particular because I was intrigued by the contrasting finishes; the handles have a brushed finish, while the spoon bowls, fork tines, and knife blades all have a mirror-finish. The simple design with no pattern made it a good fit for my modern aesthetic.
If you are a fan of patterns or different shapes and finishing, Liberty tabletop offers a lot of designs for you to check out.
The 20 piece set serves 4 people and has 4 dinner forks, 4 salad forks, 4 place spoons, 4 teaspoons, and 4 dinner knives.
My Impressions of Liberty Tabletop Flatware
The cutlery that I received is super durable. Unlike my Ikea set, I found it easy to scoop ice cream directly from the freezer without any concern about the spoon bending.
The Mallory set is both simple and elegant, matching my personal style perfectly.
Having run the utensils through the dishwasher multiple times, I’ve encountered no issues with rusting or staining.
The knives, with their hollow handles, exude a high-quality feel. However, if you lean towards solid handles, Liberty Tabletop provides that option as well!
Other Options from Liberty Tabletop
Liberty Tabletop offers many different sets and even sells their flatware by the piece, so you can easily add to your collection later on. Their largest set is 125 pieces and comes with a chest. In addition to the dinner forks, salad forks, place spoons, teaspoons, and dinner knives, this super set comes with dessert knives, butter knives, dessert forks, round bowl soup spoons, steak knives, cold meat forks, serving spoons (pierced and non-pierced), and sugar spoons. Quite the variety! I’m hoping to add some of these pieces to my collection in the future.

I’m genuinely enjoying the upgrade! Although the new cutlery performs identically to my old set, the higher quality of the new set makes my meals more enjoyable for myself and my guests.
