Ninja SLUSHi Flashing Lights Troubleshooting
Why are the lights on my machine flashing downward, and it keeps beeping? ⬇️🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆⬇️
Answer:
If the Temperature Control LEDs are flashing in a downward sequence (starting from the top) and the machine is beeping every minute, it means your mix doesn’t have enough sugar. This is a low-sugar alert, and here’s how to fix it:
- Check the sugar content: Ensure your mix contains at least 4% sugar.
- Inspect premade beverages: If you’re using a store-bought drink, check the ingredient list to confirm it includes sufficient natural sugar and not artificial sweeteners.
- Add more sugar if needed: To meet the minimum sugar requirement, mix in 1–2 tablespoons of a sweetener like flavored syrup, juice, sugar, date sugar, maple syrup, agave, simple syrup, or honey per serving.
- Reset and restart: Press the preset button to reset the unit. Once adjusted, press it again to resume making your frozen treat.
This ensures the machine has the proper ingredients to create your perfect slushy.
Why are the lights on my machine flashing upward, and it keeps beeping? ⬆️🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆⬆️
Answer: If your Ninja SLUSHi detects that your mix has too much alcohol or sugar, it’s designed to let you know by flashing the Temperature Control LEDs in an upward sequence and beeping periodically. Don’t worry—this is easy to resolve. Follow these steps to get your slushy back on track:
- Check the alcohol content: Make sure the recipe stays within a range of 2.8% to 16% alcohol. If you’re using spirits with higher alcohol content (like 35% or more), keep it to about 4 ounces per 24 ounces of your total mix.
- Dilute the mix if needed: If your recipe is too strong or sweet, try adding about 1/4 cup of a complementary liquid. Options like water, soda, tonic water, seltzer, coffee, or tea can work well, depending on your flavor profile.
- Restart the machine: Reset the unit by pressing the preset button. Once it’s reset, press the button again to begin making your frozen drink.
By balancing the ingredients and following these tips, you’ll have your slushy ready in no time.
Why are all the temperature lights on my machine flashing at the same time?
Answer: If all the temperature lights on your machine are flashing simultaneously and it’s beeping every minute, the motor has likely stalled due to an overload. This safety feature is designed to prevent damage to the motor and drive system. Here’s what you can do to fix it:
- Unplug the machine: Disconnect it from the power source to reset the system.
- Let it cool down: Allow the unit to rest for about 15 minutes to ensure the motor has cooled.
- Check for blockages: Remove all parts and inspect for any jammed ingredients or obstructions in the auger. Clear out anything causing the issue.
- Reassemble and restart: Once the machine has cooled and is clear of blockages, reassemble it, plug it back in, and restart it.
This process should resolve the flashing lights and get your machine back to normal operation!.
Why are all the preset lights flashing on my machine?
Answer: If all the preset LEDs are flashing, it means the machine has detected that the vessel is not properly installed. Here’s how to resolve this issue:
- Position the vessel: With the bail handle in the upright position, slide the vessel securely over the installed auger and evaporator.
- Lock it in place: Push the bail handle back down to lock the vessel into position. Ensure it’s firmly sealed.
- Turn the machine on: Press the Power button. The preset LEDs should now stay illuminated, indicating the machine is ready to use.
Once the vessel is properly installed, the flashing lights will stop, and you can start using your machine.
Sugar Free Slushies
Can you make a sugar-free slushy using sugar substitutes?
Answer: While the manual says that sugar or alcohol must be added to all slushies, members of our Ninja SLUSHi Facebook group have reported success with using 1/2 tablespoon of allulose for every 8 ounces of liquid.
- DELICIOUSLY SWEET INGREDIENTS: Wholesome Liquid Allulose features one simple ingredient - allulose, a naturally occurring sugar found in figs, raisins, and kiwi; ours is made through an enzymatic process using non-GMO corn.

Why do slushie machines need sugar, alcohol, or allulose? Why can't I just use diet soda right from the can?
Answer: Slushie machines require sugar, allulose, or alcohol to work properly because these ingredients help lower the freezing point of the liquid, ensuring the mixture achieves the desired slush consistency without becoming a solid block of ice.

Why is my ninja slushi creating blocks of ice with a ‘cherryade’ fizzy drink when slushing?
Will 2 percent milk work in recipes
Hi,
Will the FS301C (Canada) work in the United States? It appears the voltage and wattage are the same, but I would like to be sure. The Ninja Slushi is a Christmas gift for someone living in the United States.
Thanks,
Ken
Yes, it’ll work fine like any other appliance sold in Canada/USA.
The reason for the different SKUs is mostly packaging, as it requires the French language, and materials that reference litres instead of ounces.
